The Enso Project-Enchanted Garden House
A Place for Engaging Meditation, Sustainability and Community
Merging into one seamless whole, our sustainable needs and inner life of contemplation. In a world out of balance, harmony in our daily activity is key. The Enchanted Garden Enso House is dedicated to supporting this lifestyle.
Opportunity & Goals
Enso Zen currently has a home in a space we rent. It is a converted ‘garage-room’ which serves very well the Zen practice and study needs for community Zen center. The current location will become available for purchase in the next 1-2 years, so in preparation for this purchase opportunity, we will begin a fund raising campaign to prepare to purchase the property.
The Place
History
For over forty years Leslie Goldman was a passionate advocate of organic farming and lifestyle, preserving heirloom seeds and defending our planet from toxic pollution. Carrying his beloved Enchanted Garden into the future to fully embody this dream was his continuous hope and goal.

Property
The property is ideal in many ways. It sits on a large lot, that is sided on two sides by natural canyon area, which brings a feeling of nature, with lots of bird and animal life. Hawks and song birds screeching and singing, coyotes howling in winter time, and the crows cawing all bring to life a proximity to our natural roots; the ideal complement for engaging community with Zen meditation and sustainability.
The property also offers sufficient space for organic gardening and many fruit trees (olives, pomegranate, guava, loquat, sapote, mulberry etc.); new garden raised bed spaces, drip lines, and more fruit trees plantings are the current garden projects. Our vision is the establishment of a place for residential community, meditation with sustainable ecological principles.

Essential Values
Meditation in Action: Sustainability, Essential Unity
In our rapid stressful world with its tendency to fragmentation, places for contemplative peace practice and sustainable living have become a core need. It is our vision to maintain these sustainable contemplative living spaces.
The Need
Sustainability
The seamless integration of sustainable activity with contemplative lifestyle is more and more essential in our time. Coping with the stress and needs of the modern lifestyle requires balance in our outer activity through sustainable harmony, combined with our deep inner need for contemplative resourcing and renewal. The Enchanted Garden Enso House is a place that creates and provides this balanced view.
Funding Goals
The funding goal is $900,000 to purchase the house property. The Enso project is a federally approved not for profit educational 501c3 corporation. All donations are tax deductible. The Enso Project also may receive bequests and direct property donations for our ‘Contemplative Retreat Projects’.
Your Support
The synergy of the group carries the future into life.
In his final weeks of life, Leslie (smiling and laughing…:) said that in this time: “If it’s not ‘impossible’, it’s not worth doing!” - Leslie Goldman May 2020.
We invite you to support this vision of wholeness in our future. Giving is the key that opens the heart of wisdom and compassion into manifesting in our daily life. All contributions great and small; monetary, good will, energetic; volunteer work support, are needed and welcome.
